After a number of years following the completion of a BA (Geography) at Canterbury University I returned to study at Massey University graduating with an MA in History. With an interest in 'cultural' landscapes - the engagement between the land and people - thesis research focused on my own home area in South Canterbury and in recent years I have been occupied with a variety of projects, mainly based in this homeplace. The diverse skills of an historian have proved invaluable in working for District Councils, local Runanga, Museums, Regional Tourism, Heritage Conservation, businesses, local groups and organisations, and families.
I, along with my partner Rob, enjoy a semi-rural lifestyle availing ourselves of the great opportunities that a central location affords to make the most of the diversity of the South Island.
