Jessica McLean
I recently completed my PhD with Massey University, which examined Aotearoa’s First World War centenary and the narratives produced by both historiographical and popular material. My research has examined Aotearoa’s experiences in the First and Second World Wars with a focus on media and social histories; areas of particular interest in my work are propaganda and publicity, representations of women, and the ways in which media reflects cultural understandings of history and identity.
I currently work at Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage with the Public Programmes team, facilitating and delivering programmes relating to all aspects of the museum’s collection.
