Grace Pooley
Kia ora,
I am a Visitor Services Coordinator with Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga’s Auckland Properties team. In my role I conduct research on the buildings, families and collections in our Auckland properties cluster. I recently authored the Highwic Art Trail an interpretive guide to the historic landscape collection on display at Highwic and am currently leading the project to update all the inhouse interpretation at the property.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in art history from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and am currently completing a research master’s degree in the department of Art History at the University of Auckland focused on the work of Jewish Emigre painter poet Patrick Hayman.
I have multiple years’ experience developing guided tours of cultural institutions for visitors and have a passion for engaging audiences with New Zealand’s arts and cultural heritage.
I have a strong research interest in New Zealand Jewish history and Jewish art history and have delivered multiple talks and tours for Jewish community groups in New Zealand and Australia.
