Takapuna Library is hosting an evening with Jock Phillips. In association with Friends of the Turnbull Library, he will present on Māori and royal tours.
He will discuss how Māori used the visits of royalty to emphasise their special relationship with Queen Victoria and her successors, and hoped to use that special relationship to alleviate some of their issues with the New Zealand Government.
