Vacancy: Heritage Assessment Advisor, Dunedin (closes 16 September)

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is advertising for a Heritage Assessment Advisor to be based in Dunedin. This is a part-time position, 24 hours a week.

The role description is as follows:

We are looking for someone with the passion and skill to help us identify and recognise the Otago/Southland area’s heritage places, by taking the lead role in the area’s New Zealand Heritage List/Rārangi Kōrero work and also when time permits contributing to the Crown Land Disposal processes You must be a strong researcher with proven experience in writing fit-for-purpose heritage assessments. Candidates also need the ability and confidence to foster relationships and negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.

A tertiary qualification in a heritage related field such as history, architecture, archaeology, planning, museum and heritage studies, cultural studies or equivalent is required.
