Hereitage New Zealand invites PHANZA members to join heritage conservation specialist Susanne Rawson to hear about conserving maritime history in Aotearoa New Zealand.
In this online talk, Susanne will present a range of interesting projects, talking about how they have involved the community, the kōrero that has surrounded them, and the tangible cultural materials at stake.
Susanne Rawson is a Principal for Heritage Preservation & Field Support (HPFS) Solutions and specialises in object conservation. Over the past 15 years, Susanne has enjoyed serving in many roles related to cultural heritage conservation, material culture, and archaeology including non-profit, education, and private practice environments. In addition to her role at HPFS Solutions, she is currently a PhD candidate at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in the Museum and Heritage Studies program. She has been fortunate to have been involved with a variety of materials and in locations from the Arctic to the Antarctic, South America and across the Near East and Africa.
