A lecture series about the ongoing mahi of the Waitangi Tribunal.
Nau mai, haere mai, Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum is proud to present the Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum Legal Series, an informative lecture series about the purpose, historical significance and ongoing mahi of The Waitangi Tribunal.
Held alongside the exhibition He Kura Toi Tangata: 50 Years of the Waitangi Tribunal, 1975-2025, our special guest speakers will explore the Tribunal’s legal history through a series of kōrero which discuss how the kaupapa has developed over time, in response to social and political changes, and consider the future of Te Tiriti o Waitangi through the legal lens of our present moment.
This series has been developed by Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum and is presented in collaboration with our programme partner Kāhui Legal.
Tickets are $35 per session and include one drink and light kai. Doors open 5:30pm.
The series starts with With Dame Claudia Orange – Wednesday 6 August.
