Between the Lines: Recent Books in New Zealand Studies
Garrison World:
Redcoat Soldiers in New Zealand and across the British Empire
By Charlotte Macdonald
The Stout Centre’s seminar series highlighting recent books opens with Charlotte Macdonald’s Garrison World. The bookplaces the New Zealand Wars in a wider imperial framework and explores the lives of the thousands of soldiers, sailors and their families stationed in Aotearoa New Zealand through the period.
Join the Stout Centre for a conversation between the author and Vincent O’Malley and Peter Cooke – two experienced historians of the New Zealand Wars. Together they will explore Garrison World’s conception, development and place in historiography.
