The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands warmly invites you to mark the 375th anniversary of Abel Tasman’s voyage to New Zealand by attending the panel discussion ‘Abel@375: the Dutch of New Zealand’. This event will take place on Wednesday 6 December at 5.30pm at the National Library, corner of Aitken and Molesworth Streets, Thorndon.
Expert panellists, including historian Professor Lydia Wevers and other distinguished Dutch New Zealanders, will explore ways in which Dutch immigrants have contributed to New Zealand society. John Sullivan, Head of Curatorial Services at the Alexander Turnbull Library, will speak about digital access to resources about the Dutch in New Zealand. The Ambassador of the Netherlands to New Zealand, Rob Zaagman, will MC the event. Light refreshments will be provided.
