National Library talk (Wellington) – Gillian Headifen ‘Two of my Great Uncles were mortally wounded during The Battle of Messines’

As part of the Library’s World War One centenary commemorations, Gillian Headifen will explore the Turnbull Library holdings for The Battle of Messines 7 June 1917.  Using her own research into the lives, and deaths, of her great-uncles she will give an insight into the resources available to find out about this significant event in New Zealand’s history.  Gillian is the Turnbull Library’s Research Librarian Oral History.
