Fixed-term secondment to the Policy Team covering for Parental Leave (August 2023-May 2024)
The Policy Team is seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful applicant for the full-time fixed-term position of Manager Heritage Listing/Kaiwhakahaere Rārangi Kōrerowhile the incumbent is on parental leave.
The role involves managing the heritage listing processes, and guiding quality, capability and process improvements.
Key aspects of the role include:
- national leadership of the delivery of listing services, including National Historic Landmarks/Ngā Manawhenua o Aotearoa me ōna Kōrero Tūturu
- supporting the work of the New Zealand Heritage List/ Rārangi Kōrero Committee
- maintaining the high quality of entries on the New Zealand Heritage List/Rārangi Kōrero
- providing quality assurance and national consistency in listing processes
- leading national listing projects.
Experience in the listing process is preferred but not essential. The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification and strong professional experience in a relevant field such as Māori studies, history, art history, archaeology, heritage studies, public policy or business administration. Excellent communication, organisational and people management skills are required. Research experience would be an advantage.
