Head along to a Central Library Heritage Talk in which Auckland Library Heritage Trust Scholar, Chris Turnbull, will discuss New Zealand Imperialism in the Cook Islands.

Fifty years after the Treaty of Waitangi, colonial New Zealand took a second opportunity to shape the new government of a Pacific Polity. This talk discusses this meeting of Colonial and Island cultures in the Cook Islands and argues that Island leaders were significant in determining the outcome
