The Scarred Nations: Intrastate Conflict, Legacies andReconciliation – Titiro Whakamuri ki anga Whakamua Symposium

16–21 April 2023
Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira,
Aotearoa New Zealand

The organising partners for Scarred Nations are delighted to invite paper submissions to this international, multidisciplinary symposium showcasing academic and creative work on intrastate conflict, its legacies, and processes of reconciliation.

The goals of the symposium include creating a conceptual space in which perspectives from multiple fields and experiences can be shared. It will initiate and promote research that makes a substantial contribution to many fields, not least those concerned with peace and conflict. The symposium will draw on national and international experts, including representatives from academia, iwi, intergovernmental organisations, NGOs, peacekeepers, and those with direct experience of civil war to frame discussions and seek solutions to conflict and its myriad legacies.

More information on the symposium and guidance on how to submit a paper proposal can be found here.
