The 2024 Symposium will be held at St Paul’s Church, Tennyson Street, Napier, on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November 2024.
A welcome function will take place on the Friday evening, and the Symposium Banquet will be held at Bistronomy, Hastings Street, Napier, on Saturday evening.
St Paul’s is adjacent to the site on which, in 1887, New Zealand’s first cookery book was printed – Fanny Murdoch’s ‘Dainties – Or How to Please Our Lord and Masters.’
The Symposium welcomes all amateur and professional gastronomers with a passion for food and food history. There is now a general CALL FOR PAPERS. These may be oral presentations, practical demonstrations, tastings, or the display of interesting culinary artifacts. Oral papers are allocated 45 mins, which includes the discussion period. AV Powerpoint will be available, but please discuss your AV requirements early.
