Australian Garden History Society Conference, 24-27 September 2026

This year, the Australian Garden History Society is offering those in New Zealand a special deal for their conference – the cost of conference registration will include a one-year digital membership to the Society.

This year’s conference will explore the rich history of the Orange district in Central West New South Wales, the land of the Wiradjuri. The area’s rich basalt soils have seen waves of horticultural endeavour. Once known for its cherries and apples, Orange is now most famous for its shiraz and chardonnay.

Delegates to the full conference will enjoy three half days of lectures, with a variety of garden visits each afternoon and wine tastings, and the conference dinner.

Register here and add (NZ) after your name so we can identify you:

Hurry, too, if you wish to join the optional tour to Molong on Monday 28 September or to take advantage of former New Zealander Stuart Read’s extensive knowledge of the Blue Mountains. He will be leading the pre- and post-conference tours (22 to 24 September and 29 September to 1 October).
