Members will no doubt be aware of yesterday’s announcement of a security breach in Archives’ new Collections Search system and the decision taken to remove the system from public view. PHANZA’s members, particularly those whose work or livelihoods depend on access to that system, will be dismayed and disappointed with this turn of events. We will be contacting the Chief Archivist to again raise our concerns about Archives’ management of access to its records.
For those of you who have not yet seen it, you can find the Chief Archivist’s statement on the removal of access here.
